The introduction to crewel embroidery, the stitches, and the section on Old English Crewel are adapted - with revisions necessary for American use - from Encyclopedia of Needlework. Published by Hearthside Press Inc., New York, under an arrangement with Everybody's Publications Ltd. The sections entitled: Early American Crewel and Contemporary American Crewel and Contemporary American Crewel are new, as are twenty-six photographs. There is no dust jacket with this book.
